A special sort of luxury

There are thousands of luxurious hotels spread around every corner of the globe now, but true luxury provides you with something special. Memories and feelings which are unique and will stay with you forever. Here are three such examples from the cozy chalets of the Alps to airy Kasbahs of Northern Africa.
Les Fermes de Marie
Nestled within the 5-star ski resort of Megève, is a collection of similarly 5-star accommodations. Just a nine minute walk from the lifts which will whisk you up high into the mountains surrounding Mont Blanc, in both winter and summer, this collection of rooms and chalets at Les Fermes de Marie are truly exceptional. This is luxury in the high mountains.
With indulgent decors which make use of the local craft expertise, as well as the authentic chalet style of the Haute-Savoie, you'll be embraced in warmth and coziness. But there is more than meets the eye at Les Fermes de Marie - whatever you might wish for, there is nothing which the staff will not be able to assist you with. Whether you fancy your own yoga class to work out those aches and pains, or need a last minute rental from the private ski-shop that the groups operates. Everything, you might need can be accommodated.

By Dussol
By Dussol is something a little bit different from your typical hospitality. Think of these locations as places of art which you can stay in. The hospitality industry for the two French brothers who run founded the group, is one where luxury, privacy, and art come together. These locations are described as homes away from home on the group's website, but these places are nothing like my home. For example in the groups first property, La Maison, here the two brothers have created a masterpiece. Bold colours with striking visuals, complement elegant and classical furniture. If aesthetic design is high up on your wish list, then any of the five rooms will offer a unique experience which you won't be forgetting quickly. Likewise, the group's second project, La Suite, offers similarly bold and tasteful decors while surrounded by the greenery of Joá, with panoramic views over the Rio de Janeiro bay. The Dussol brothers have truly done something special in the creation of these "homes away from home". The attention to design and style, is something which is often placed second on the list of priorities of property owners. With the Dussol brothers it is well and truly first. Perhaps what is most exciting though is what the future holds for the group: a luxurious inner city hotel situated in the large, former colonial Le Paris. Keep your ears and eyes open for when this is complete!

Dar Ahlam
Stepping across to the African continent and on the edges of the Sahara, Dar Ahlam is a desert oasis, where you are the centre of attention. Small, but utterly luxurious, this fourteen room former desert Kasbah, looks out toward the Atlas mountains. Founded by the former french actor Thierry Teyssier, as well as being a beautiful hotel, Dar Ahlam is much more about your experiences while you're here. The concept is to make anything you wish possible - a fitting endeavour for a hotel named "Maison des Rêves". With your stay you are accompanied by your dedicated guide: take a trek into the Valley of Roses while they bloom in April, or walk among the Almond trees in February, or visit the palm grove, Skoura, one of the last inhabited palm groves in Morocco. For everyone who stays at Dar Ahlam, no two stays are the same.
